1. ISC/EABP Congress November 8-11 2008 BODY AWARENESS where body
psychotherapy, neuroscience and traditional healing meet Paris, France

1st day: Is Reich still up-to-date? 2nd day: Trauma, neuroscience and child
development 3rd day: Transpersonal psychology, ethno psychiatry and
traditional practices 4th day: New paradigms in the beginning of the
3rd millennium
Body psychotherapy is influenced by ancient approaches of how body and mind
can be mobilized to enhance individual development, which are still relevant
today, such as yoga and trance methods; and by recent scientific
developments such as the neurosciences. These different traditions
are organized in function of the needs of patients in psychotherapy. As long
as scientists have not become able to propose working models fully capable
of supporting a psychotherapy practice, therapists need to find ways of
combining methods created by a variety of approaches of the human being. In
this congress we would like to discuss the wide range of models used in body
psychotherapy, their value and relevance, and see how such a variety of
methods and theories can be managed and presented to stimulate future
scientific research on the individual human experience. This congress will
be at a high theoretical level and experientially diversified.
2. USABP Conference It is with great pride that the 2008 conference

SPECIAL EARLY BIRD FALL REGISTRATION PRICING: For the first 25 USABP Member
online registrants we are offering a super early bird registration price of
$425. This offer is limited to the first 25 online registrants. No other
discounts or coupons apply to this rate. Existing members will need to log
in using your user name and password to receive this members only super
early bird rate. Regular early registration rates will apply after the 25
super early bird registrations have been filled. Regular early registration
is $475 for members.

conference is listed there. To register scroll to the bottom of the
conference page. You can also view all the different concurrent workshops
and the presenters.
Once you begin the registration process you will be asked to select any
CEU's, pre-conference workshops, and other optional events associated with
the conference. If you do not wish to participate in these options please
select "No thanks" at each option so you will not be charged for them.
PLEASE NOTE: This offer is limited to the first 25 USABP members who
register on line. No other discounts apply to the $425 super early bird
special. USABP membership must be maintained through the conference or
non-member conference registration rates will be due at the conference. A
hard copy of the registration booklet is being mailed at a later date and
paper registration will be available then.
Robyn Burns, the Executive Director of the USABP, confirms that EABP members
may sign up at USABP membership rates.
If someone is wanting to do it now and get the $425 rate they need to let
her know (admin@usabp.org) and they can just write "EABP Member" on their
form before they fax it or mail it and she will confirm that with the EABP
Secretariat.
3. EABP FORUM News At the recent FORUM Meeting in Paris the IFFPsy -
Institut Francais de Formation de Psychotherapeutes - in Marseilles became
the 21st EABP Training Institute to have successfully gone through the
self-assessment and mutual accreditation process. This is an accreditation
for two years and must be looked at again before they can go to the EAP for
the EAPTI accreditation.
The re-accreditation process for the FORUM training institutes that have
been accredited since the process was set up in 1999 has now been started.
Training institutes must let the Secretariat know when they will be present
at a FORUM Meeting to complete the process for their institute. More
information about this re-accreditation process will be available at the
beginning of 2008.
4. Eva Reich Support Fund Eva Reich needs full time care and her daughter
Renata Moise does all she can - and perhaps too much - to give this care at
Eva's home. You will remember from the last Newsletter we published a letter
from Renata who described how this is taking place. The full-time care that
she needs is not covered by the US Health Service so we have set up an Eva
Reich Support Fund to raise money for regular extra help. If you are willing
and able to give a small monthly donation read in the attached document how
you can do this.

5. EABP Website Initially the EABP website was created single-handedly by
Courtenay Young. In the last few years it has gone through a re-design
process. However it continues to develop organically and needs constant
revision. The section on the situation of body psychotherapy in different
countries is way out of date. If you would like to contribute a short
article on the situation in your country contact the publications committee
through the Secretariat. As an EABP member - do you have ideas of what you
would like to see on your website and what you would like it to offer?
