Once an organisation has been accepted as an organisational member it can
let the EABP Secretariat know that it is interested in applying to become a
member of The FORUM. The organisation will then be invited to, and must
attend, two meetings of The FORUM in order to get to know members who are
participating in The FORUM, and for members to get to know them. An
organisation is accepted as a member of the FORUM on a vote from members at
the end of these meetings.
Once Training Organisations are a member of The FORUM they can apply for accreditation by The FORUM.

FORUM Activities
The main activities of The FORUM are:
Accreditation - is according to the EABP Training Standards. These have been formulated by the EABP Training Standards Committee and were amended and passed by the EABP General Assembly in September 1999. They were amended and accepted by the EABP General Assembly in Askov, Denmark in September 2006. These amended Training Standards can be viewed by clicking here.
The Accreditation Process - is one of Self-Assessment and Mutual Recognition. For more details, click here.
The Chairperson elected by The FORUM represents the FORUM on the EABP Board. Currently there is a FORUM Executive Committee consisting of Lidy Evertsen, Thomas Riepenhausen and Martin Tidén.One of these three will be present at each Board Meeting.
The FORUM is achieving a separate identity from EABP and is developing its own goals and aims related to the needs of its member organisations.
The FORUM was given a mandate to accredit Body-Psychotherapy Training Schools by the 1999 EABP General Assembly. This is subject to revue, and subject to a process of scrutiny by the EABP Training Standards Committee.
Also discussed at The FORUM was the idea of establishing some "Common Ground" in Body-Psychotherapy between the different modalities. This idea has now been put into a separate page on this Website. There the ideas can be discussed and a dialogue built up. Please visit this page by clicking here.
The FORUM holds a one-day symposium before each FORUM Meeting where individual schools present their work and where issues related to all schools are discussed. (see below).
The new Ethical Guidelines were passed by the EABP General Assembly in Askov, Denmark in September 2006.
The FORUM has produced an information booklet about the schools and their activities. Copies are available from the EABP Secretariat. Press here to get the pdf document.
