International Progam “Body
Culture” (Russia, Germany, Great Britain). Russian Association of Body-Oriented
Psychotherapists (RABOP). Institute of Psychotherapy.
Festival “Russia:
Soul and Body” Trainers:
Vladimir Baskakov: “Thanatotherapy”.
These are minimally difficult
and maximally effective techniques, reaching a special state of body and mind,
which contains a lot of energy – a source of healing powers, solution of the
most difficult human problems. This is not medicine,
and
this
is not treatment.
But when this state is reached, the
balance of basic biologic processes of human (“social”) body is established. As
a result, the ways of solving the most complicated psychological and somatic
problems are found. The method’s distinctive feature is its maximal safety of handling
energy. Basically, it is an equivalent of dreams mechanism, when the activation
of unconscious, often suppressed feelings and images (energy activation)
happens with a sleeping (i.e. totally relaxed and grounded) body. The workshop
participants will get an unusual possibility of total relaxation, or at least
they will see what prevents them from relaxation (this is a part of their
problem), and will find out and try the ways of solving the problem.

Marina Baskakova: “Snowgirl phenomenon – how to fall in love, but not to “melt”, or how to have a strong feeling and remain alive”
A problem of contact of a human
being with his or her strong feelings (love, fear, hatred, despair, etc.) reflected
in a Russian fairy-tale about a Snowgirl, can be solved with the use of a “fairy-tale
tradition” (metaphor of “body” and “ground” in the Russian tales) for “grounding”,
recovering of ability to feel and live through strong emotional states

Irina Vasilieva: “Symbol Plasticity: Dreams about the Body”
An authentic method of body work through the dream, based on the combination of classical body-oriented psychological approach and dream practices of the shamanic culture. Shamanic approach is based on a deep and delicate connection between the man and the nature. This is both an internal and external connection, where the body plays a big part as an extension of the soul, not its opposite. External events are also a reflection and continuation of internal processes, and their unbreakable connection is used for understanding one’s mission and good changes in one’s life and destiny. When we dream, we perceive the world with a relaxed body, a body, which is ready to perceive delicate and quiet hints from our “sacral” body, connecting us with the Universe, to our “social” body. An art of dreaming is considered to be a mild and safe journey to the far corners of the unknown. The basics of the method is going through seven levels of dream in order to get the hints of the deep “sacral” body and obtain a powerful source of energy. Going through these levels also gives seven efficient strategies of solving difficult problems of people’s internal and everyday life.

Elena Leonenko, Galina Timosheniko:
“Body Metaphors as a Way of Working with Personality Position”.
This way of work is based on an authentic classification of basic
personality problems. Body metaphors are presented not as separate techniques,
but as a whole approach to work with any personality disorders. Unlike most modern
approaches, the metaphor approach is clearly aimed at a specific result, and
easily motivates the client for a conscious cooperation. This method helps a
rather fast transformation of the integral personality structure of a client.

Olga Semenova: “Body Tarot”
This is a combination of the body therapist’s experience and the most ancient human knowledge- Great Arcana of Tarot, in which spiritual experience of mankind is encoded. Metaphors, symbols and images of Body Taro give us access to body unconsciousness, help in personal growth and development, in finding the way to solutions of life problems. Body Tarot is a set of “rules and instructions” for activation of creative search on body level. Such type of work can be very precise in selecting significant data, parameters of “coincidences”, so it can model certain opportunities. Using Body Tarot techniques in
psychotherapy can be very effective in all types of life crisis (age, existential, spiritual), in therapy of depression, grief, post-stress disorders, and also in work with disabled people and terminally ill patients.
OLGA SEMENOVA

Vladimir Frolov: Psychosomatic Relationship. Connection of Body and Mind.
Different types of emotional
and affective disorders may cause pathological spasm or hypertonus of certain muscle
groups. We can find hypertoned breathing muscles in depression, hypertoned oral
and perineum muscles in anxiety and phobic disorders; rigid muscles of the back
neck can be found in asthenic emotional disorders. It’s not possible to relax emotionally
without deep muscle relaxation, so active bodywork with different muscle groups
should come first, before psychotherapeutic techniques. When used professionally,
manual therapy and osteopathic techniques create the most adequate, pathogenically
proved and safe approach.
