EABP is an association of members working to establish body psychotherapy as a recognized branch of the profession of psychotherapy.
We act as an accrediting organization for European body psychotherapists and work to maintain and promote standards, ethics, and levels of professional worth among our members.
We work to obtain official recognition for the speciality of body-psychotherapy in the various European countries, and to establish that body-psychotherapy can be practiced legally and professionally in all countries in Europe.
We promote dialogue and the exchange of information among the EABP Members.
We support activities including the organization of congresses, workshops or other meetings.
We keep a bibliography of all published articles and books relating to the specific theoretical area of body-psychotherapy and publish regular Newsletters.
We work to further scientific research and development in Body-Psychotherapy.
Who is EABP for?
We accredit European Body-Psychotherapists and currently have over 600 professionally accredited members on the EABP Register of European Body-Psychotherapists who are all fully trained and experienced Body Psychotherapists, working in 21 different countries.
We list their addresses and phone numbers, and (where available) a direct e-mail contact.
There is also information in the Membership section on how to join, Membership criteria, etc.
Ten National Associations act for EABP and process EABP Membership applications in their own country.
If you are living in one of these countries apply to the the National Association.
The FORUM of Body-Psychotherapy Organisations has 24 Training Institutes and 2 Professional Associations.
19 of the Training Organisations have gone through an accreditation process.
Currently 5 new Training Institutes are applying for FORUM Membership and going through the accreditation process.
The Training Institutes give full 4-5 year trainings for body psychotherapists as well as running shorter courses/workshops for specialists and lay people interested in the body-mind connections.
We also give information about other related congresses, trainings and workshops run by our members and member organisations.
