6. EXTRA MOTION for the GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING
MOTION 13
The Executive Board decided at the meeting on 12th October 2008 to put forward an extra motion to the General Assembly regarding the Italian National Association AIPC.
(This motion has been put forward since the printing and mailing of the Grey Book.)
The Board has tried for three years to talk with the AIPC about their commitments as a National Association of the EABP. These commitments include the payment of fees over three years, signing of the 2006 Agreement between AIPC and EABP, attending the COUNCIL meetings and supplying membership and financial information.
Time after time they have come up with answers that are too short, excuses or no answers.
The Board will bring the case to the COUNCIL meeting in Paris on Friday 7th November (14.00 - 18.00 hrs) with a recommendation to terminate the Agreement. The COUNCIL's decision about the matter is binding. If the COUNCIL agrees to propose the motion and if this motion is passed in the General Assembly then the AIPC will cease to exist as a National Association representing the EABP in Italy.
The Members in Italy will have the right to stay as EABP members.
MOTION: That the Agreement between the EABP and the AIPC be terminated. They will no longer be a National Association representing EABP in Italy.
7. Resignation of Joop Valstar
Joop Valstar has announced his resignation as EABP President after a term of two years. (He has been on the Board for six years). Please read his report in the Grey Book.
Joop has given many years of outstanding service since the beginning of the EABP. His hard work and his incisive mind have contributed to bringing a coherence and integrity to the work of the Board, which will be sorely missed.
8. Board Positions
Björn Ødegaard will not stand for a new term.
François Lewin is resigning as Treasurer but is willing to stay on the Board to ensure the continuity of Board functioning in the coming period along with Sean Doherty who is standing as Treasurer and Ingeborg Joachim who will stand as Membership Secretary.
Looking at the past years and at the work the Board has done they feel strongly that there needs to be a new generation of members in the board and on the various committees to share the vision and direction of EABP and to propose action - people who may be more connected to the actual developments in body psychotherapy and psychotherapy and willing to develop future perspectives on the profession.
The Board invites you to put yourself or others forward for the following Board positions.
President
General Secretary
Board Member
9. Committee positions
On the committees too the Board is looking to encourage a new generation of participants.
There are many new valuable projects, which can be undertaken and our wish is to see more EABP members coming forward to help us to ensure the continued diversity of EABP and its various functions.
Congress Planning Committee
Ethics Committee
Membership Committee
Professional Development Committee
Publications Committee
Scientific Committee
Auditors for 2010
The Professional Development Committee and the Scientific Committee need people with vision and initiative to get the committees off the ground.
There is more detail in the Grey Book and we will be on the stand in Paris in order to discuss these with you.
We look forward to seeing you.
